Sustainability through Entrepreneurship — 1st NTUA Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

Innovation and entrepreneurship are central instruments of the European green and digital transitions, and the translation of academic research into deployable solutions is a key dimension of NTUA's contribution to that effort. The NTUA Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship has launched the 1st NTUA Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, organised within the framework of the "Strategic Research Plan of NTUA" (MIS 5180665) under the Operational Programme Greece 2.0 and co-financed by the European Union. The competition invites NTUA community members, undergraduate and postgraduate students, PhD candidates, faculty, and researchers of NTUA and ICCS-EPISEY, to form teams of two to six and submit original ideas across seven thematic clusters that mirror the priorities of Horizon Europe: Health, Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society, Civil Security, Digital, Industry and Space; Climate, Energy and Mobility, Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment; and Critical Infrastructure. Several of these clusters, particularly Climate, Energy and Mobility, and Food, Bioeconomy and Natural Resources, sit at the core of the European green transition, providing a structured pathway from technical research to the entrepreneurial deployment of the technologies that the transition requires. By coupling research excellence with an institutional support framework for innovation and entrepreneurship, the competition strengthens NTUA's role as a generator of both knowledge and applied solutions for the climate, energy and societal challenges facing Europe.
