NTUA POWER TALK SERIES
The commitment of NTUA to sustainable engineering education is reinforced through its sustained engagement with leading international professional communities. A recent highlight (15/11/2025) was the visit of Mr. William McQuade, President of ASHRAE to the School of Mechanical Engineering as part of the NTUA Power Talk Series. His open Q&A session with NTUA students addressed themes that align closely with the University's sustainability strategy, designing for resilience rather than for decarbonisation alone, accounting for the full carbon footprint of new technologies including artificial intelligence, cultivating communication and leadership skills alongside technical excellence; and treating efficiency, using the fewest resources to achieve the same outcome not as an option, but as a responsibility. The visit reflects a long-standing collaboration between NTUA and ASHRAE, expressed both through the active NTUA ASHRAE Student Branch and through consecutive distinctions earned by NTUA student teams in the ASHRAE International Student Design Competition (2nd place in 2021, 3rd place in 2024). Engagements of this kind reinforce the mission of NTUA to educate engineers who are not only technically excellent, but also curious, responsible and ready to lead the climate transition.
