Annual participation in international student sustainability competitions

NTUA fields interdisciplinary teams every year in leading international student design competitions, drawing students from the School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Architecture. Through this sustained presence, our teams have earned consecutive distinctions at the ASHRAE International Student Design Competition: 2nd place in 2021 in the Integrated Sustainable Building Design category, and 3rd place in 2024 in the Setty Family Foundation Net-Zero Energy Design category. These results reflect a structured pedagogical approach that combines technical depth, regulatory awareness and life-cycle thinking, and that continues to feed back into our curriculum.
