Rental bikes for employees

Starting in 2026, all JU employees will have the opportunity to sign up for a rental bike through our external partner, Ecochange. This initiative is designed with a dual purpose in mind: to encourage healthier lifestyles among staff and to promote more sustainable, environmentally friendly commuting.

The concept was first tested in a pilot project launched in 2022, and the positive feedback and strong engagement from participants have paved the way for a full university-wide rollout. Employees who choose to take part will have access to a high-quality bike over a three‑year rental period, financed through a convenient salary deduction model.

By offering this solution, JU aims to make it easier—and more enjoyable—for staff to integrate physical activity into their daily routines while contributing to reduced carbon emissions. It is a practical, impactful step toward a healthier workplace and a greener future, and we are delighted to extend this opportunity to all colleagues across the university.
